Vera Tower
Picture posted to Facebook by Chad Fannin on January 10, 2021. Description from post.

Vera Interlocking Tower located at Vera Junction on the N&W Ry in Portsmouth, circa 1920’s. The two tracks going straight are the main line to Columbus. The track switching to the left is the mainline to Cincinnati. Notice the tower operator looking out the window towards the camera man. He was in charge of throwing the handles in the tower that controlled the switches diverting trains to go their designated direction. He also handed train orders to the crews as they passed by. Unknown photographer, Ed Fannin collection 8x10 reprint.
