1702 During Boarding
1702 has just completed the photo run bys in the Nanthahala Gorge, and while the other passengers scurry back aboard, I lingered near the locomotive. The run bys were actually in the opposite direction of the route of travel. 1702 backs down out of the gorge because there is no place to turn on the west end of the line. But the run by is done traveling west. Confused. Ride the GSMR and it will all make sense.
