Steel City Fooball showed the form of a champion in week two, Nearly doubling up the Patriots 123-66 (that more than double, you say!. Actual score was 123.7-66.9, missing by point one. Do not doubt your commish!). Jaylen Hurts, Raheem Mostart and Kyren Williams all scored more than twenty points. The win advances FooBall to 2-0, and give the Brilliant Manufacturing League a 2-0 over Edison Works for League of the Week.

Who had Kirk Cousins on their most likely to win Player of the Week sheet. Not I. But Kirk Cousins led all players with 38 points for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Unfortunately it was not enough. Seabreeze used a remarkably balanced attack, led by TJ Hockenson with 18. Seabreeze rode that tight end to a 114-103 victory.

Best game of the week was the Gritz Blitz Falcons beating Rimski’s Raiders 104.2 – 103.3. This was a matchup of 1-0 teams, the only one in the BM League in week two. And it lived up to the hype. This probably looked like an easy win for the Falcons until the Steelers defense scored 2 TDs on Monday night. But the came up just short. If only we offered a point for inflicting season ending injuries.

After relatively low scores in week one, week two saw all six winners score over 100, and two of the losing teams did too. The other winners were the Digital Scammers, who join the Falcons and Fooball at 2-0. The Willow Run Flyers dumped the Cincinnati Eagles 100-74. And Baloony Boiz picked up their first win over Prestige Worldwide 103-79.

BANE DEFEATS DAK KNIGHT
I picturing Talia al Guhl holding up a newspaper ala Dewey Defeats Truman. Such was the theatric performance of Bane in their defeat of The Dak Knight Rises. Just like in the BM league, Kirk Cousins was the Player of the Week with 38 points. He was backed up by Saquon Barkley, who added 21. But the victory did not come without extracting a price, as Barkley was injured in the game.

Best game of the week was the Rally Possums defeat of the Beercats 79-70. Despite the low score, it was still a very competitive matchup. Justin Herbert was game MVP with 26. The Possums are not 2-0 with the victory.

The game of the week from last week’s article goes to Shakedown. Shakedown flushed Down the Drain 115-74. Somebody should start keeping a tally on how many times a use a flush reference with Down the Drain. Patrick Mahomes and Keenan Allen had 27 and 22 respectively. Shakedown is now 2-0.

Other winners in week two were TacoCorp, who beat the Scammers to go to 2-0. Joanne defeated Happy 100-87 and Momball bounced back from a slow start and beat Transformation Worldwide.

SURVIVOR
The beer got warm and went flat in week two. The skunky Beercats have been knocked off Survivor Island in the Edison Works League. The Old England Patriots won’t be happy about being knocked off the island, but won’t mind as much going down with Beercats.

SURVIVOR
While the Brilliant Manufacturing league has the early lead in Team of the Week awards, after two weeks it is an Edison Works League team sitting atop the power rankings. Shakedown is 2-0 and has scored more points than any other team so far. The Scammers and FooBall are second and third from the BM League. Bane rises to fourth for EW. And Baloony Boiz round out the top five.

MONEY MATTERS
I keep track of what everyone owes and what everyone has earned at the bottom of the article page. Except when I don’t. I’ll get it updated this week, but I haven’t marked anything yet this year. If you’ve paid, be patient with me.

GAME OF THE WEEK

Early in the season when win loss records are not evolved enough to reveal the best teams, I depend heavily on the Power Rankings for Game of the Week. After some searching, I did find a top five matchup. Steel City FooBall is third in the Power Rankings, coming off an impressive Team of the Week victory. They hit the road to play Baloony Boiz in front of their excited fan base after the franchises first victory.

A couple of young QBs are likely to square off in this game. Jalen Hurts will lead FooBall while Justin Fields will most likely be under center for the Boiz. FooBall is 2-0 while the Boiz are 1-1. At the time of this article, the projections give FooBall a slight advantage.
