This will be a subdued article. For those not aware my dad passed away on Saturday. So it is neither appropriate, nor am I up for writing a whimsical article.
Shakedown earned team of the week honors across the two leagues. His 161.8-91 victory puts the Edison Works League on the board in the competition for best league. Shakedown had three players with 29 or more points, including Raheem Mostert who won Player of the Week with 38.2. A hundred sixty one points may stand up all season, which reminded me… with fourteen weeks, we’ll need a tie breaker for the better league competition. Highest score will be the mark.
We lacked any real barn burners in the EW league this week, but the Beercats got their first win 96-88 over Transformation Worldwide 96-88. That qualifies as the best game of the week.
The Rally Possums join Shakedown as the only 3-0 teams. They did it in less impressive fashion, being the only team to win without scoring 100 points. They beat Happy 86-76.
Other EW winners in week three were the Secret Scammers, The Dak Knight Rises and Bane.
GRITZ BLITZ FALCONS SOAR
A very competitive week in the Brilliant Manufacturing League saw the Gritz Blitz Falcons win Team of the Week honors with a 141-109 score over Prestige Worldwide. The Falcons were led by Lamar Jackson’s 30 points. Kenneth Walker III added 27. The Falcons are 3-0.
Steel City FooBall beat Balooony Boiz 111-68, thanks in no small part to Raheem Mostert, who was player of the week in this league too. Jalen Hurts scored 25 as FooBall also advanced to 2-0.
The best game of the week saw the Old England Patriots knock off the Cincinnati Eagles 101-100. What a tough defeat for the Eagles, who are still looking for their first win of the season.
Another good game with another tough beat was the Scammers 134-130 victory over SeaBreeze. Anytime you score in the 130 and don’t get a win, it stings. You can only hope for SeaBreeze that doesn’t come back to hurt them at the end of the year.

SURVIVOR
Tim marches on with the Survivor game this week, as two more teams are eliminated. Gone from the BM League is Baloony Boiz, who only scored 68. Gone from the EW League is Happy, who’s 76 was a low water mark.
GAME OF THE WEEK
Between the two leagues, we have five undefeated teams. Of those five teams, only one plays a team with a winning record this week. Makes Game of the Week choosing pretty simple.
The Rally Possums are the 3-0 team. But one could accuse them of a little good fortune. Their total points scored is in the bottom quarter of the leagues, and they’ve had the fewest points against of any team in the Edison Works League.
That bodes well for the Dak Knight, whos point total is more than ten points per game higher than the Possums. Adding additional interest to this game, these teams are both in the Tom Landry division, so the winner gets a game up on a division rival.
