Happy is very happy. Four in a row if I’m counting right. And this week, Team of the Week. They are the seventh different team to win Team of the Week, and give the Edison Works league a 4-3 lead in the Team of the Week League Challenge. Happy beat The Dak Knight Rises 150-111. Lamar Jackson scored 41 points. Happy is now in first place in the Don Shula division after an 0-3 start.

Patrick Mahomes won Player of the Week honors for Shakedown. Mahomes had 43. Shakedown moves to 7-0 with the 116-77 win over Taco Corp.

The best game of the week saw the Beercats defeat Bane 118-117. Jordon Addison was the was the top scoring player for the Beercats with 24. Christian McCaffrey added 21.

Another close game had Joanne dropping the Scammers 79-74. Jalen Hurts was game MVP with 31 points. Joanne is in second place, but a full three games back of Shakedown.

The Rally Possums are now 6-1 after beating Transformation Worldwide 104-73. The Possums are now 6-1 on the season, with a two game lead in the division. D’Onte Foreman had 30 in the win.

And Down the Drain got their third win of the season, beating Momball 80-60. Geno Smith had 21 for the Drain. Down the Drain is just one game back of Happy in the Shula division.

BM MID SEASON REVIEW
Shakedown has established themselves the best team in the EW league. A perfect 7-0 record and a nearly eighty point lead in total points. While going undefeated is unlikely, Shakedown can probably start preparing the post season lineup pretty soon. Shakedown currently has a three game lead in the Noll division.

The Rally Possums are 6-1 and two games ahead of the field in the Landry division. Both Shakedown and the Rally Possums are 99+% locks to make the playoffs… according to ESPN.

Far more competitive is the Shula division, where Happy leads at 4-3. Down the Drain is a game back at 3-4. Taco Corp one more back and Transformation Worldwide is looking for a wildcard spot.

Speaking of wildcard spots, four teams are 1-6 or 2-5. Those teams are currently outside the playoffs. They are TacoCorp, Secret Scammers, Momball and Tranformation Worldwide. There are two teams at 3-4 who are currently in. You probably need six wins to at least get into a tie break for a playoff spot.

OLD SCHOOL
The Old England Patriots led all teams in the BM League. They beat the Baloony Boiz 117-94. Patrick Mahomes picked up Player of the Week honors along the way scoring 43. The Patriots are an impressive 5-2 and tied for first in the Halas division.

There were a couple of nail biters this week. The Cincinnati Eagles beat Florida SeaBreeze 76-71. Neither team had a twenty point scorer. Jahmyr Gibbs was the leading scorer for the Eagles. The other close game was Grande Fantasmas, who beat their rival from across the pond, the Rimski Raiders 99-93. Josh Allen had 32 for the Raiders while Travis Kelse pulled in a swift 23 points for Fantasmas.

We are half way through the season, and one team in on an historic track. The Gritz Blitz Falcons improved to 7-0 after a 114-81 victory over the Willow Run Flyers. The ’72 Dolphins are watching the Falcons intently as they threaten a perfect season. Lamar Jackson made a run at POYU with 41.

The Ohio State Buckeyes pulled off the upset of the weekend. The Buckeyes beat Steel City FooBall 104-82. Kirk Cousins led the Buckeyes with 26. It was the Buckeyes second win of the season, and only the second loss for FooBall.

Last but not least, the Digital Scammers advanced to 6-1 with a 107-93 victory over Prestige Worldwide. No outstanding performances on either team, but the Scammers did accumulate enough for the wein.

BM MID SEASON REVIEW
Two teams are out ahead of the field at the halfway point of the season. Gritz Blitz Falcons are a very impressive 7-0. They hold a four game lead in the Lombardi division, and are projected by the ESPN playoff predictor as an absolute lock to make the playoffs. Now they haven’t mathematically clinched a playoff spot, and cannot do that for a couple more weeks. But they do look like a safe bet.

The Digital Scammers are leading the Paul Brown division by three games with a 6-1 record. It will be a tough road back for teams trying to catch the Scammers.

But the Halas division is a good battle. Steel City FooBall and the Old England Patriots are tied at 5-2. From there it is three games back to third place, so this figures to be a two team race.

The wildcard picture at the midway point is as clean as you can get. Four teams are 1-6 or 2-5, and outside looking in at the moment. Those teams are the Raiders, Buckeyes, SeaBreeze and Fantasmas. None of those teams are out of the hunt. Four teams are 3-4 and very catchable down the stretch. It is an oddity, the BM league has no team at 4-3, creating a large divide in the standings.

SURVIVOR
We get into the 90s to find our team knocked off the island in the BM division. Prestige Worldwide wasn’t close to the low scoring team in the league. But they were the lowest of the remaining teams. Not a very prestigious way to end your Survivor game. TacoCorp doesn’t really have the same excuse in the EV League. TacoCorp drops out of Survivor with only 77 points scored… a just score for getting booted off the island.

GAME OF THE WEEK

Maaaaaannnnnn! All these weeks I’ve struggled to get a really top notch Game of the Week, no offence of course to the teams who’ve played in the GOW, of course, and now I get two stellar games the same week. One in each league.

I’m gonna give an honorable mention to the game I did not choose. The perfecdt Gritz Blitz Falcons may face their toughest test of the season in the BM League when the play Steel City FooBall this week. Steel City is 5-2, and looking to bounce back from a down week.

But the game of games is Shakedown on the road at the Rally Possums. The earth will shake when these teams butt heads. Will the Possums step up, or will they play dead (man, that was a lame pun. Emberessing, yes, but I’m too lazy to delete it).

Skakedown has superman himself, Patrick Mahomes. That may be enough to win the game all by himself. Justin Herbert will be on the other side of the ball for the Possums. Playing dead may actually be a good option. Just Sayin’.
