Must be nice to have two players who combine for seventy five points. And a third that gets you to ninety six. Doesn’t leave a lot of work for the other six players. That’s the sort of game the Gritz Blitz Falcons put together, handing the Cincinnati Eagles their fourth loss to open the season, 151-103. Christian McCaffrey had 41, Lemar Jackson 34 and Isiah Pacheco had 21. The Falcons are now 4-0.

Josh Allen was the week four Player of the Week. Josh had 44, but it was not enough for Rimskis Raiders as the Raiders lost to the Digital Scammers 115-79. The Scammers are out to a 4-0 start.

The best game of the week saw the Willow Run Flyers edge out the Ohio State Buckeyes 76-72. Derrick Henry had twenty five for the Buckeys (suspect Bengal fans are all too painfully aware of that). The Flyers get back to .500 and in second place in the Lombardi division.

There is a third team at 4-0. Steel City FooBall beat Prestige Worldwide 116-83 for their fourth straight won. Stephon Diggs had a cool thirty, Jalen Hurts added 28 and Kyren Williams had 24 for the victorious FooBall.

The other winners in week five were the Baloony Boiz, who had an impressive 133 with the help of 39 from Justin Fields. And the Old England Patriots, who are now a quiet but effective 3-1.

BEERCATS MAUL MOMBALL
The Beercats were all over Momball like frost on a cold mug, nearly tripling Momballs week five total. The Beercats get back to 2-2 with a 147-59 thumping. Christian McCaffrey scored 41. That was more than the top three scorers for Momball combined. With two more players in the twenties, the Beercats cruised to the win.

Josh Allen was the Player of the Week in the EW league too. And just like in the BM league, he wasn’t enough to secure his fantasy team a win. TacoCorp went Down the Drain despite Allens 44 points. Down the Drain won 126-100. Both teams are not 2-2.

Just sneaking into the ten point threshold for a “good game”, and even that was a little generous from your humble commissioner, the Rally Possums beat the Dak Knight Rises 112-102. It was actually more than ten with decimals. David Montgomery was the games top scorer with 32 for the Rally Possums. The Rally Possums are not 4-0.

Rally Possums are joined in the ranks of the perfect teams by Shakedown. Shakedown beat Transformation Worldwide 106-91. Shakedown got 27 from the Cowboys defense. Seems like that has happened before. And that won’t last all season. We’ll see where Shakedown lands when the Cowboys defense stops scoring a bunch of points.

Happy got their first win of the year. They beat the Secret Scammers 98-81. It was Happy’s first win of the season. And Joanne moved to 2-2 with a 125-59 victory over Bane.

SURVIVOR
The Edison Works League see Bane off the island in week five. And it the Brilliant Manufacturing League, Sea Breeze succumbs to the alure of the sea and is also washed away. One third of the teams in our two leagues are not out of the Survivor pool, and things will start to get tighter, where teams with decent scores get caught in the rip tide.

BYE WEEKS START
Bye weeks start this week. Check your lineups. No mercy if you play a player on bye. And if I end up with too many owners next year, that is a clear sign for who is not that interested.

ALL 25 YEAR TEAM
The list of players eligible for the All 25 Season Team has been trimmed from 150 to 100. That includes a lot of kickers and tight ends eliminated. A lot, but not all.

If you’ve been voting, you’ll find the votes get more interesting as much of the dead weight has been eliminated. You’ll now have to pick between a couple really good players. Again, the more votes, the better result we get, so keep voting.

GAME OF THE WEEK

I don’t like putting myself in the game of the week. Not only is it a bad omen, but its narcasist, narrsatisti, narcestiti, vain. But when I look at the records of the teams playing this week, it really is the right choice.

The Digital Scammers are 4-0. They are surviving with Anthony Richardson at QB. Tyreek Hill is providing offence from the receiver position. But it is a bunch of no names holding this thing together right now.

The Old England Patriots come in with more star power. They are 3-1, and have Patrick Mahomes. And Patrick Mahomes is getting second hand Taylor Swift energy. That probably means the Scammers don’t have a chance.
